Welcome to our second Sandleheath Neighbourhood Plan Blog post, the purpose of which is to keep residents informed and updated on this important village initiative. Work on the Plan is gathering pace, but for now we want to draw your attention to just three current topics.
Firstly, many thanks to all the Sandleheath residents who have returned a completed Housing Needs Questionnaire recently sent to all households. We have had a particularly good response. We appreciate some have not had time to complete these or have been away, so we are extending the return date until the end of Monday, 16th December. You can drop off your completed questionnaire into the village shop or bring it along to the ‘drop-in’ event on the same day (see 2 below).
Also accompanying the questionnaire was a separate ‘call for sites’ letter to local landowners. If you are one of these, please remember to complete and return this letter as requested by the 13th of December.
Secondly, and as mentioned in the last Blog, we would like to invite all residents to come along to the first Neighbourhood Plan Public drop-in and Engagement/Information Session at the Village Hall on Monday 16th December, from 3pm to 7pm. This will be an informal session to meet the Steering Group preparing the Plan, look at the emerging plan documents and ask any questions. There will be many other opportunities for residents to comment on the Plan as it further develops next year, but we hope you will find this ‘introductory’ session helpful. Tea and coffee will also be available. All are welcome to drop-in!
Finally, please do not forget to visit the other pages of this website as they are regularly populated with new content. The most recent addition is the Sandleheath Draft Design Code which looks to “establish local design expectations and set out illustrated design requirements that provide specific, detailed parameters for the physical development of the area.” Prepared by our Planning Consultants after several meetings and village walk-abouts with members of the Steering Group (all made up of Sandleheath residents) it provides a fascinating look at the history, development and character of the village and its unique physical and environmental design features. Once completed and, if adopted, the Design Guide will be an important document to help shape the future look of our village. So, do please take a look and have your say on what you think of it or come along and find out more at the above drop-in session on 16th December.
Looking slightly further ahead, next week we also plan to have a summary of key Plan Policies uploaded onto our website. This content will also include a link to an on-line survey which all are invited to complete or comment on, including various ‘inter-active’ components. More details will be provided in our next Blog and at the above drop-in meeting on December 16th. Once again, many thanks for reading this Blog and look out for more to follow, your participation is particularly important. If you have any questions or comments on matters raised above, please email them to clerk@sandleheathparish.co.uk
